Accounting Supervisor – US Clients

About the role

A fintech firm based in Australia is hiring an Accounting Supervisor to manage accounting operations, supervise the accounting team and ensure compliance with international accounting standards. The role covers maintaining financial accuracy, streamlining processes and building strong client relationships, with a focus on US-based clients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial transactions and ensure accurate entry into accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero, and verify the accuracy of financial records and reports.
• Review and analyse financial statements, reports and budgets, ensuring they are complete, accurate and delivered on time.
• Track cash flow, revenues and expenses, and give recommendations to address variances and improve financial health.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements, general ledger accounts and other records, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international accounting and tax laws and ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of accountants and bookkeepers, including performance reviews and training.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement best practices and automation tools.
• Act as primary contact for US clients, answering queries and giving financial advice, and prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with operations, finance and senior management teams.

Required profile

• CA Finalist/Qualified, CIMA, ICMA, ACCA (Finalist or Qualified); a Master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
• 6-10 years of accounting experience, ideally with international clients or in BPO/audit firms.
• Proven ability to lead and manage accounting teams.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of International GAAP, tax laws and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero or similar accounting software.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and professionalism with confidential data.

The position is based in Karachi with timings from 4 pm to 1 am PKT, and offers salary plus benefits.
