Accounts Executive (Accounts Payable)

About the role

Abacus is looking for an Accounts Executive to lead its accounts payable function. You will ensure invoices are processed accurately, vendors are paid on time, and internal controls are maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and code invoices against purchase orders.
• Maintain organized records of all payable transactions and assist in AP‑related financial reporting.
• Reconcile AP accounts, resolve discrepancies, and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Schedule and execute payment runs (cheques, digital transfers, etc.) and communicate with vendors on payment status.
• Review expense reports for policy compliance.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls for the AP process.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on accounts payable experience.
• Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com) or a Bachelor’s (Hons) in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high‑volume transaction processing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with SAP Business One or other SAP ERP systems.
