API Inspector – Pressure Vessels, Piping & Tanks

About the role

The API Inspector ensures the integrity, reliability and regulatory compliance of fixed equipment such as pressure vessels, piping systems and above‑ground storage tanks. Working with API, ASME and international standards, the role supports risk‑based integrity programs and helps minimise unplanned downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of pressure vessels, piping and storage tanks in accordance with API 510, 570 and 653.
• Perform thickness measurements, corrosion assessments, fitness‑for‑service evaluations and remaining‑life calculations.
• Monitor repairs, alterations and rerating activities to ensure code compliance.
• Identify non‑conformities, issue NCRs and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and ensure timely closure of findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy or related engineering discipline (or relevant diploma).
• 5‑12 years of inspection experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or power sectors.
• API certifications (at least one of 510, 570, 653) and strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, IX, B31.3.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and international codes.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
