Assistant Manager Accounts Receivable

About the role

This position manages accounts receivable operations in a manufacturing environment, ensuring timely collection of customer payments, accurate customer ledgers and effective credit control in line with company policies and financial procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing, ledger maintenance and timely recording of transactions.
• Reconcile customer accounts, investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding balances with the Sales and Finance teams.
• Monitor outstanding receivables, follow up on overdue payments and escalate potential credit risks.
• Monitor customer credit limits, payment terms and overdue exposure.
• Ensure accurate processing of sales invoices, credit notes, debit notes and supporting documentation.
• Prepare periodic accounts receivable ageing reports, collection summaries and balance analyses for management.
• Coordinate with Sales, Dispatch and Commercial teams on billing disputes and payment discrepancies.
• Support monthly and annual closing activities and ensure compliance with financial controls, tax requirements and audit procedures.
• Identify ways to improve collection efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Required profile

• 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable and credit control.
• MBA/BBA in Finance or equivalent qualification.
• Understanding of financial controls and reporting in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, credit control and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Analytical skills, attention to detail and effective communication and follow-up.
