Audit Associate

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Audit Associate to join our Internal Audit team in Islamabad. This position is ideal for candidates who have recently completed their articleship and want to gain hands‑on experience in risk‑based internal audits, control assessments, and process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Support the execution of internal audits aligned with a risk‑based audit framework.
• Perform process walkthroughs and document key business processes and controls.
• Evaluate internal controls across financial, operational, and compliance areas.
• Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and compliance gaps.
• Conduct data analysis and testing, including work with large datasets when required.
• Prepare structured audit working papers with clear documentation and references.
• Assist in drafting audit findings, outlining risk impact and actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to gather information, clarify processes, and track responses.

Required profile

• Completed articleship from a reputable audit firm.
• Up to 1 year of post‑articleship experience in audit or a related role (preferred but not mandatory).
• CA Inter qualification (mandatory); ACCA or CIA preferred.
• Strong analytical ability with high attention to detail.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of IFRS.
• Knowledge of internal audit methodologies and internal controls.
• Familiarity with risk assessment principles.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
