Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to design and optimise AI‑driven systems that automate sales outreach, lead engagement and CRM updates. You will work directly with the founder of a fast‑growing AI startup, building intelligent agents that communicate via calls, texts and emails while delivering a natural, high‑converting experience.

Key responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI‑powered agents that call, text and email leads on behalf of clients.
• Create and optimise workflow automations using platforms such as n8n, Make or similar tools.
• Integrate AI systems with CRMs like HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce and GoHighLevel via APIs and webhooks.
• Design prompts and conversational flows that make AI interactions feel human and sales‑focused.
• Troubleshoot automation issues, debug workflows and improve system performance.
• Handle client onboarding and support requests directly.
• Collaborate closely with the founder on new automation strategies and feature improvements.
• Analyse workflow performance and continuously optimise AI behaviour and conversion rates.
• Maintain documentation for automations, integrations and client implementations.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, JSON and third‑party integrations.
• Experience reading technical API documentation and troubleshooting integration issues.
• Familiarity with CRM systems including HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho or GoHighLevel.
• Experience with prompt engineering for conversational AI or sales‑focused AI workflows.
• Understanding of outbound sales workflows, SMS campaigns, follow‑up automation and lead nurturing.
• Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills.
