Bookkeeper

About the role

Meta Traders is looking for a reliable Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records and support the day-to-day accounting needs of its Karachi operations. The role is on-site and full-time, and suits a detail-oriented professional who can manage confidential financial information, meet recurring deadlines and work within established accounting procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Record and classify daily transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts and payments.
• Maintain general ledger entries and reconcile bank, cash and supplier accounts.
• Prepare and organise invoices, vouchers, expense records and supporting documentation.
• Track accounts payable and receivable and follow up on outstanding items.
• Assist with monthly financial summaries and provide accurate records for tax filings or external review.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate routine variances and keep orderly digital and physical files.
• Coordinate with team members to obtain complete transaction information and support timely financial processing.

Required profile

• Practical experience recording transactions and maintaining ledgers, journals and supporting records.
• Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, expense tracking and bank reconciliation.
• Familiarity with bookkeeping or accounting software and ability to keep well-organised digital files.
• Strong attention to detail when checking figures, matching documents and spotting discrepancies.
• Ability to protect confidential financial information and follow consistent documentation procedures.
• Clear communication and coordination skills, and reliable time management to meet regular bookkeeping and reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Spreadsheets: accurate data entry, formulas, sorting and basic reporting.
• Bank reconciliation and general ledger maintenance.
