Cash Application Assistant

About the role

The Cash Application Assistant will join the UK Finance team, reporting to the Credit Control Manager. The role focuses on accurately posting and reconciling daily cash receipts to customer accounts across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Download daily bank statements for each Business Unit and store them in designated shared folders.
• Identify customer details for each cash receipt and post transactions in the accounting system, handling multi‑currency payments and reviewing remittance advices.
• Save remittance advices in shared folders and collaborate with Credit Control and Transactional Teams to resolve unidentified cash receipts.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, verify all cash postings, and work with Transactional teams to correct errors and review GL control accounts.
• Prepare integration files for bulk processing of high‑volume direct debit or credit‑card payments.
• Identify refunds from bank statements and post them according to company processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting procedures.
• Support process‑improvement initiatives within cash application and accounts receivable functions.
• Help run monthly statements and chase‑letter automation, and review sales ledgers for clearance of historical balances.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or related finance functions.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Understanding of internal controls and accounting standards.
