Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the role

The Catalyst Group is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer for a leading international real estate advisory firm operating in Pakistan. Reporting directly to the CEO and interfacing with regional leadership and the board, the CFO will own the financial health of the Pakistan business and act as a trusted commercial partner.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO on pricing, business cases and growth decisions, providing a finance perspective that shapes strategy.
• Oversee income tax and sales tax compliance and planning, working with external advisers as needed.
• Own preparation and integrity of financial statements, delivering timely, accurate reporting to regional head offices.
• Set and manage surplus capital strategy, including mutual fund investments, balancing return, liquidity and risk.
• Maintain strong operational cash flow management and forward visibility, including project‑level cash management.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering collaboration with local and international stakeholders.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification preferred; exceptional candidates without CA may be considered.
• 10‑15 years of progressive finance experience at Finance Director, Deputy CFO or equivalent level.
• Proven record of influencing commercial strategy with finance insights.
• Hands‑on experience in treasury, cash management and tax compliance.

Required skills

• Command of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Expertise in treasury and cash management, including deployment of surplus funds.
• Strong knowledge of income tax and sales tax compliance.
