Chief of Staff

About the role

Mimetic Machines builds learning and deployment environments for physical AI. As Chief of Staff you will work directly with the founders from Karachi, extending their reach across the company and its partners, structuring and executing across a wide range of areas and creating the conditions in which the team does its best work. Because you will work with the founders every day, the learning curve is steep.

Key responsibilities

• Run meticulous project management, holding together dozens of topics and spotting bottlenecks before they happen.
• Prepare the founders for decisions, follow through on what happens after, and carry out workstreams that have no owner.
• Act as the first point of contact for partners and keep relationships strong between founder visits.
• Set up plans, reviews and reporting so a growing team can run on its own, and keep them honest.
• Help hire, onboard and develop new hires, and make sure everyone knows what good looks like.

Required profile

• A few years of experience in consulting, investing, operations or a fast-growing startup.
• Ability to switch contexts many times a day while going deep when it counts.
• Clear writing and speaking, in both Urdu and English.
• Calm judgement, good reading of people and the ability to hold others accountable with kindness.
• Proactive problem solving and persistence until issues are resolved.
• Based in Karachi, with travel within Pakistan and occasionally abroad.
