About the role

Huawei is seeking an experienced CS Core Planning Engineer to join its team in Islamabad. The role focuses on planning, capacity analysis, and optimization of the circuit‑switched core network.

Key responsibilities

Monitor network utilization, growth trends, traffic forecasting and capacity across CS core elements.
Understand and work with high‑level and low‑level designs for MSC, STPs, SVC and HLR.
Recommend and drive network optimisation initiatives to improve efficiency and service quality.
Coordinate with vendors (Huawei, Nokia, ZTE, Ericsson) and internal teams to evaluate proposals and define operational standards.
Support project integration, commissioning, implementation and new node acceptance.

Required profile

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in CS core network planning and optimisation.
Strong troubleshooting skills using tracing tools and Wireshark.
Effective communication with technical customers and ability to analyse requirements.

Required skills

CS core call flows and scenarios per 3GPP, GSMA, IEEE, ETSI standards.
Knowledge of CS nodes (VMSC, GMSC, SBC, OSS, HSS) and protocols (SCCP, BSSAP, RANAP, SS7, SIGTRAN, M3UA, MTP3).
Experience with network capacity analysis, traffic forecasting and optimisation.
Familiarity with basic communication and data communication concepts.
