Data Mapping & Syndication Expert

About the role

NielsenIQ, a GfK company and the world's leading consumer intelligence firm, is looking for a Data Mapping & Syndication Expert in Karachi. The role covers building and maintaining channel and marketplace mappings, vendor files and category mappings used in the Transmutation system, testing them and supporting the team.

Key responsibilities

• Build understanding of channel/marketplace schema, format and taxonomy, and identify global, common and vendor attributes.
• Create and maintain the vendor file/template and the header mapping file, and create mappings via Handlebars in the Transmutation system.
• Maintain the channel/marketplace to Etilize category mapping in Excel, deploy it on Transmutation, and flag missing mandatory attributes to the relevant category owners.
• Maintain a multilingual translation dictionary for localized mappings where required.
• Test submissions in the staging account of the Syndication Platform, analyse rejection reports and CSV exports, and fix taxonomy or software issues.
• Define and maintain standards, guidelines and the process for mapping, and write custom FBBs for channel/marketplace categories.
• Monitor mapping activities, analyse rejection reports and root causes, and propose process or system improvements.
• Train new team members on Handlebars mapping and on new or existing channels and marketplaces, and mentor colleagues.
• Assist in delivering requirements to software teams, make reports and provide pre-sales support, and take part in meetings and calls.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of overall professional experience.
• University degree or equivalent combination, preferably in engineering or technology.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Jira handling.
• Basic coding skills.
• Knowledge of AI tools.
• Understanding of marketplace taxonomy and product catalogues.
• Proficiency in MS Office, with expert-level MS Excel.
