Digital Communication Officer – Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Digital Communication Officer on a contractual basis to transform complex technical and regulatory information into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences, supporting Pakistan Customs' communication needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deconstruct dense technical, scientific, or regulatory material into concise content for policymakers, industry professionals, and the public.
• Develop and maintain a wide range of technical assets, including white papers, SOPs, user manuals, policy briefs, and explanatory notes.
• Gather data from customs operations, trade statistics, and policy documents to produce data‑driven stories and reports.
• Collaborate with graphic designers to create process diagrams, flowcharts, and infographics that simplify complex information.
• Conduct content audits using analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, heatmap software) to identify gaps and recommend updates.
• Produce multi‑format content such as long‑form research reports, short FAQs, knowledge‑base articles, and platform‑specific social media posts.
• Write and edit scripts for videos, webinars, and reels while preserving technical accuracy.
• Publish and maintain content in CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal), ensuring proper categorisation, tagging, and on‑page SEO.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical or scientific writing and documentation.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret operational and regulatory data.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure consistency in terminology and style.
• Comfortable working independently and coordinating with subject‑matter experts and designers.
• Ability to adapt tone for different audiences, from formal regulatory submissions to public‑facing materials.
