Distribution Manager

About the role

The Distribution Manager will lead end‑to‑end supply chain, logistics, and inventory operations for both cold‑chain and ambient pharmaceutical products. The role focuses on optimizing warehouse and depot performance, ensuring high service levels while controlling costs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic replenishment models, network optimization, and inventory positioning to improve market responsiveness.
• Plan and execute cold‑chain and ambient distribution, maintaining product integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Manage multi‑location distribution networks to guarantee timely product availability and minimize stock‑outs.
• Align replenishment strategies with demand planning and sales forecasts to achieve high service levels.
• Drive process optimisation, warehouse capacity utilisation, and route planning for cost reduction.
• Resolve real‑time issues such as short shipments, supply disruptions, and urgent replenishment needs.
• Lead cross‑functional teams and coordinate with procurement, planning, and logistics partners.
• Oversee vendor and transporter performance, enforce SOPs, and monitor KPIs.

Required profile

• MBA degree.
• 8‑12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain and distribution management, warehouse and inventory control, cold‑chain and temperature‑controlled logistics, and transportation/fleet management.
• Understanding of demand planning, forecast alignment, replenishment strategies, and stock optimisation.
