Expert Accounts Payable

About the role

The Expert Accounts Payable will manage end‑to‑end payment processing within the AP department, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. The role supports the AP management team, identifies improvement opportunities, and drives automation to enhance efficiency. Reporting to the Manager Payable Payments, the position works closely with a team of five colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Process assigned payments accurately and on time, following validation checks, policies, and procedures.
• Handle foreign payment processing, ensuring compliance with State Bank rules, foreign exchange procedures, and required documentation.
• Manage IC/LC processes and related banking instruments for imports and international transactions.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, accurate financial records, and support audits and financial reporting.
• Stay updated on income/sales tax regulations and ensure correct tax withholding on goods and services.
• Coordinate with other departments for reporting, aging analysis, and data requirements.
• Respond promptly to internal and external customer queries, providing satisfactory resolutions.
• Collaborate with business partners and cross‑functional teams to develop work plans and monitor project activities.
• Identify AP process improvement areas, analyze root causes, and propose practical solutions.
• Execute additional assignments such as reconciliations, data collection, and process optimisation.

Required profile

• MBA or MS in Accounting (or equivalent).
• Relevant experience in accounts payable, preferably with exposure to international payments.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and tax compliance in a banking context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
