Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

About the role

The Outsourced Expert is seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join its growing finance team. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, reporting and providing commercial insights that help clients make informed financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning and financial modelling for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare monthly management reports, KPI dashboards and performance analyses for business leaders.
• Conduct variance, profitability and cost analysis to deliver actionable commercial insights.
• Build rolling forecasts and scenario models to support strategic planning.
• Develop and enhance reporting templates, dashboards and financial reporting frameworks.
• Collaborate with bookkeeping, payroll, tax and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting.
• Present financial reports and business insights to clients while nurturing long‑term relationships.
• Drive process improvements, reporting automation and operational efficiencies using modern tools and AI.
• Review financial deliverables, ensure reporting quality and support finance team development.
• Identify opportunities to improve business performance and expand advisory services.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting or commercial finance.
• Strong expertise in financial modelling, cash‑flow forecasting, KPI reporting and performance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Fathom or Syft.
• Experience working with Xero; familiarity with MYOB or QuickBooks is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, CMA or equivalent is preferred.
