Finish Engineer – Tops/Knitwear

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Finish Engineer to lead finishing development and bulk execution for tops and knitwear product categories. The role bridges product development and bulk production, ensuring finishes meet aesthetic, quality, compliance, cost and lead‑time targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage finish development from product concept through bulk production, meeting quality, cost, and schedule goals.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure on‑time delivery, testing compliance, risk mitigation and adherence to LS&Co standards.
• Develop, source and approve finishes according to design briefs, aiming for first‑time approvals and rapid turnaround.
• Maintain development systems such as PLM, GPPTL, formulas and digital records.
• Conduct risk assessments at FLA and CS stages, review lab dips, fabric developments, strike‑offs and hand‑looms.
• Support vendors with updated testing standards, assess capabilities, and establish bulk finish tolerance limits.
• Ensure bulk production complies with LS&Co testing standards and approved shade bands.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of hands‑on experience in tops/knitwear product development and finishing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Technology or a related field.
• Strong understanding of garment finishing, fabric development, testing standards and bulk production processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLM and GPPTL systems.
• Knowledge of garment finishing techniques and fabric development.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and managing vendor capabilities.
• Familiarity with testing standards, RSL compliance and shade‑band approval processes.
