FP&A Executive

About the role

Murkez Technologies is looking for a highly analytical FP&A Executive to support financial planning, forecasting, reporting and performance analysis for U.S.-based client portfolios in the restaurant, franchise and retail sectors. The role sits within the Finance Delivery team and works closely with clients to deliver accurate, timely and client‑ready financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Support preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for U.S. client portfolios across restaurant, franchise and retail operations.
• Develop and maintain financial models, long‑range plans and rolling forecasts aligned with client reporting requirements.
• Continuously improve forecast accuracy through data‑driven analysis of historical trends, actuals and business drivers.
• Coordinate with clients to review, validate and submit budgets and forecasts on schedule.
• Build and maintain robust financial models for scenario planning and performance tracking.
• Perform detailed variance analysis of actuals versus budget/forecast, explaining key drivers across revenue, COGS, operating expenses and store‑level performance.
• Analyse KPIs, unit‑level metrics and operational performance data for restaurant/QSR and franchise clients.
• Identify anomalies, trends and financial risks and flag them to the delivery team.
• Prepare monthly and periodic management reporting packages, financial dashboards and executive‑level summaries.
• Produce reconciliation packs, variance explanations and financial schedules for month‑end close.
• Ensure all FP&A outputs are accurate, professionally formatted and reviewed before submission.
• Support implementation of stronger FP&A processes, templates and controls to improve quality and consistency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and improve reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (ACCA or CPA preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance or related roles.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience with Power BI, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan or similar FP&A systems.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Ability to build and maintain complex financial models.
