Fundamentals Operations Associate

About the role

Octus provides credit intelligence, data and analytics to professionals in hedge funds, investment banking, management consulting and law firms. Its Fundamentals product delivers financial data for corporates across the sub-investment-grade liquid credit and private credit universe. As a Fundamentals Operations Associate, you keep the high-velocity data platform running: resolving user queries, supporting financial analysts, maintaining data quality and keeping the coverage universe accurate and current.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor data alerts and retrieve financial documents so analysts can update their models without chasing them.
• Identify and validate the correct financial documents for company models, matching entity, period and filing type and complying with internal compliance requirements.
• Investigate and resolve user requests about model update queries, judging whether gaps are genuine, explainable or external and coordinating responses.
• Support a team of financial analysts with data needs and day-to-day operational tasks.
• Take on ad hoc projects that improve data quality and strengthen operational processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and use AI tools to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Maintain and expand the coverage universe across liquid and private credit markets, onboarding new issuers, tracking company-level changes and keeping model statuses and access classifications accurate.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage and organise large volumes of data accurately and consistently, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong prioritisation and composure when multiple demands arise at once.
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication, able to liaise between analyst and operations teams.
• Comfortable switching contexts and keeping quality high as priorities change.
• Background in a data operations or similar role within financial services.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration is preferred.
