Head of Commercial Finance

About the role

The Head of Commercial Finance is a senior, business‑facing finance position that partners with Business Development, Product, Delivery and Sales. Reporting to Finance and the COO Office, the role provides financial leadership throughout the deal lifecycle and supports strategic investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain business cases for strategic initiatives such as market expansion, M&A, product investments and major technology projects.
• Prepare financial models, scenario analyses and investment appraisals (NPV, IRR, payback, sensitivity) to inform executive decisions.
• Partner with business leaders to validate financial assumptions, prioritize investments and compare actual performance against approved business cases.
• Lead commercial deal review and governance, delivering robust financial analysis, documentation and commercial discipline.
• Provide financial analysis for commercial opportunities, including cash‑flow projections, P&L forecasts, profitability metrics and margin expectations.
• Support commercial contracting, offering guidance on structures, taxation, revenue recognition, internal costing and charge‑out rates.
• Collaborate with Sales, Delivery, Product and Accounting teams to strengthen financial governance and improve commercial outcomes.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with extensive experience in commercial finance and business partnering.
• Proven track record of developing business cases, financial models and investment analyses.
• Strong understanding of deal evaluation, contract finance, revenue recognition and profitability monitoring.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with sales, delivery, product and accounting teams.
