Head of Engineering – Food Manufacturing

About the role

The Head of Engineering will lead all engineering, maintenance, utilities, reliability and capital project functions for a large food‑manufacturing plant in Lahore. Reporting to senior management, you will shape engineering strategy, drive digital transformation and ensure the plant operates safely, efficiently and cost‑effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering, maintenance, utilities, reliability, projects and infrastructure teams across the facility.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve plant reliability, operational efficiency and asset performance.
• Implement preventive, predictive and reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) programmes to maximise OEE.
• Manage CAPEX projects including plant expansion, machinery installation, automation and commissioning.
• Ensure continuous availability and optimisation of power, gas, steam, water, compressed air, HVAC and wastewater treatment systems.
• Drive industrial automation and digital initiatives involving PLC, SCADA, HMI, IIoT and CMMS.
• Lead root‑cause analysis, continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, TPM and cost‑optimisation efforts.
• Oversee engineering OPEX & CAPEX budgets, vendor relationships and procurement.
• Maintain compliance with EHS, ISO and statutory engineering requirements.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams while collaborating with production, quality, supply chain, finance, HR and HSE.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of progressive experience in engineering, maintenance, utilities, reliability and capital projects within food manufacturing.
• At least 3 years in a senior engineering leadership role.
• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering (PEC‑recognised). MS preferred.
• Proven ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
