IT Officer – Infrastructure & Systems

About the role

We are seeking a proactive IT Officer to oversee and maintain our office’s IT infrastructure. The role ensures network stability, security, and efficiency while providing advanced technical support to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor servers, switches, routers, firewalls and overall health of the IT infrastructure.
• Manage hardware inventory, perform regular data backups and test disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Administer on‑premise and Azure Active Directory, create and manage user accounts, groups, OUs and Group Policy Objects.
• Handle user onboarding and off‑boarding, and control permissions for file shares and network resources.
• Configure and maintain proxy servers, implement web‑filtering policies and troubleshoot proxy or firewall connectivity issues.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for hardware, software and network problems, and produce technical documentation.
• Coordinate with external vendors for hardware repairs and internet service provision.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in IT support or infrastructure management.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, clear communication and the capacity to work independently.

Required skills

• Microsoft Active Directory administration (user management, GPO, DNS).
• Experience with proxy servers such as Squid, Forefront TMG or Zscaler.
• Knowledge of firewall configuration and web‑filtering policies.
• Understanding of networking protocols – TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS.
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 environments.
• Scripting with PowerShell (optional but preferred).
