Laptop & Desktop Technician

About the role

A full-time on-site Technician for laptop and desktop support is sought. The technician maintains, repairs and upgrades a wide range of computer systems and peripherals, and provides timely technical support so that IT infrastructure runs optimally on site.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on laptops and desktops.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on computer systems and peripherals.
• Install and configure hardware, operating systems and applications.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users.
• Monitor and maintain computer performance and security.
• Collaborate with IT team members to improve system efficiency.
• Maintain detailed repair records and technical service reports.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience (3-5 years) as a laptop and desktop technician or in a similar role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in IT, computer science or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and communicate well with customers.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as required.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge.
• Installing, configuring and maintaining operating systems and applications.
• Hardware repair and component replacement.
• Familiarity with network configuration and basic networking concepts.
• Knowledge of Windows, macOS and Linux is a plus.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are a plus.
