Manager, Quality Assurance – Operational Risk Management

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan is seeking an experienced professional to lead Quality Assurance within its Operational Risk Management function. Reporting to the Unit Head, the role will ensure risk‑based QA reviews are conducted effectively across the bank’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute QA reviews for assigned units using approved risk‑based methodology and sampling approaches.
• Develop and maintain QA methodologies, guidelines, and checklists for RCSA, control testing, and ORM process reviews.
• Review RCSA self‑testing results and supporting evidence to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Guide QA analysts in re‑performing control tests and ensure proper documentation.
• Assess QA exceptions, control gaps, and data issues, escalating significant concerns to senior management.
• Coordinate with business and support units on QA reviews, follow‑up on evidence, and manage remediation actions.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation (first class) in Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field; Masters or professional certifications preferred.
• At least 6 years of experience in a financial institution or audit firm, with 4 years in operational risk, internal audit, quality assurance or controls testing.
• Strong analytical ability with aptitude for quantitative analysis.
• Good understanding of risk, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
