Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Pak-Arab Refinery Limited is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance and reliability activities for both rotating and stationary equipment at its Mid‑Country Refinery.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure fitness and monitor condition of rotating equipment, develop maintenance scopes, lead troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and implement engineering solutions.
• Oversee maintenance strategies for stationary assets such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, reactors and piping, including preventive programs, fitness‑for‑service evaluations and turnaround support.
• Provide technical support to contractors, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with API, ASME, ANSI and ASTM standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a HEC‑recognized university with PEC registration.
• Up to 8 years of experience with rotating and stationary equipment in refinery, fertilizer or petrochemical environments.
• Hands‑on experience with vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, RCFA, HAZOP, MOC and Permit‑to‑Work systems.

Required skills

• Rotating equipment maintenance (compressors, pumps, turbines, fans, gearboxes).
• Stationary equipment expertise (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems).
• Predictive maintenance techniques: vibration monitoring, oil analysis, thermography.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI, ASTM standards for pressure vessels and rotating machinery.
• Experience with HAZOP, MOC, PTW, welding, corrosion control, NDT and pressure testing (hydro‑ and pneumatic).
