Merchandiser – Embroidery Decoration (MTX Stitches)

About the role

Milltex is seeking a dedicated Merchandiser to manage embroidery and decoration orders for its MTX Stitches division. The role is based on‑site in Karachi and operates on US Eastern Time business hours, supporting US wholesale and retail customers.

Key responsibilities

• Run embroidery orders from quotation through production and dispatch.
• Cost decorations accurately using stitch count, thread colors, placement, technique and run size.
• Coordinate with US operations, internal merchandising teams and the supplier network.
• Stay updated on US buyer preferences and market trends across streetwear, varsity, outdoor and corporate segments.
• Perform occasional field visits to suppliers and production units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Textile, Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Manufacturing or a related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience (internships at export houses, embroidery units or buying offices are acceptable).
• Strong written and spoken English and excellent communication skills.
• Reliable internet, backup power and a quiet workspace in Karachi.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of flat/direct embroidery, single‑layer and double‑layer applique, 3D puff, chenille and various patch techniques.
• Ability to build costs from stitch count, thread colors, placement, technique, backing and run size.
• Familiarity with digitising software outputs such as Wilcom or Pulse.
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑head embroidery machines (Tajima, Barudan, ZSK, SWF).
• Comfort using the custom Threadline web application for costing, sampling and production tracking.
