Microbiologist – Landhi Plant

About the role

The Microbiologist reports to the Manager Microbiology in the Established Pharmaceutical Division's Operation, based at the Landhi Plant in Karachi. The role supports the manager in coordinating and overseeing all micro-lab activities, in sterile and non-sterile areas, so that the team succeeds, product release is on time and there are zero line failures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing required for raw materials, finished products, AMC, media fill runs and challenge tests of autoclaves and dry heat sterilizers.
• Maintain inventory of prepared media and cultures according to frequency.
• Carry out microbiological sampling and testing in line with approved protocols for facility, utilities, environment, equipment and product validation.
• Keep the micro-lab and washing area clean and tidy.
• Collect water samples (WFI, DI, PW) on schedule and sample finished products of the SVP area according to the manufacturing plan.
• Sample air (viable and non-viable), swabs, gowning swabs, glove prints and commodity samples on schedule.
• Sample glucose liquid according to procedure.

Required profile

• Science graduate or master's degree, preferably in Microbiology.
• 1-2 years of experience in the same capacity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Analytical skills.
