Payroll Manager

About the role

The Payroll Manager will lead the bank's payroll function, ensuring accurate processing, timely salary disbursement, and full compliance with regulatory and internal policies. This senior role also oversees budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to workforce costs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end monthly payroll processing, validation, approval and salary disbursement.
• Perform payroll balancing, reconciliation and month‑end closure activities.
• Act as Payroll Checker/Authorizer, enforcing maker‑checker controls.
• Coordinate with Finance for payroll funding, accounting entries and related reconciliations.
• Prepare and monitor annual payroll budgets, workforce cost forecasts and financial projections.
• Conduct financial impact analysis for increments, promotions, bonuses and compensation changes.
• Maintain payroll master data and ensure accuracy of employee compensation records.
• Oversee payroll‑related audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.
• Prepare payroll MIS, workforce cost reports, headcount analytics and management dashboards.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and control enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, Business Administration or related field; Master's degree or professional certifications are a plus.
• 8‑10 years of experience in payroll, compensation & benefits or HR operations, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of managerial experience.
• Proven experience in payroll reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, audit management and compensation administration.
