PCB Design Engineer

About the role

Silicon Nexus, a global provider of digital solutions, product development and IT consulting, is looking for an experienced PCB Design Engineer able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure. The role covers board design for EV charging stations and other applications, from layout to documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Work on boards for controlling EV charging stations, AC (now) and DC (later).
• Design multilayer PCBs and circuits, adapting designs to alternative components and MCs.
• Research and evaluate alternative components for BOM optimisation on price and availability.
• Collaborate with firmware and embedded developers.
• Carry out EMC and safety pre-evaluations and adapt the PCB to the measurement results.
• Implement customer requirements and prepare documents for PCB assembly and fabrication.
• Design high-speed PCB layouts while preserving signal integrity and avoiding propagation delay.
• Analyse and resolve design-related issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a PCB designer engineer.
• Strong understanding of electronic components and strong knowledge of PCBs.
• Clear understanding of PCB layer stack-up and standard PCB design rules.
• Ability to maintain and create libraries and proficiency in BOM.
• Strong learning drive, communication skills and ability to use the right tools at the right time.

Required skills

• CAD software such as Eagle, KiCAD or Altium.
• Knowledge of RF and analog layouts.
