Principal Technology Manager - Pakistan

About the role

The Country Technology Manager leads the Technology department in Pakistan, covering both branches in Karachi and Lahore, and plans, directs and leads the Technology, Data and Innovation group. The role supports and executes the organization's vision in Service Operations, sets goals and direction for the team and articulates objectives to senior leadership. It is based in Karachi.

Key responsibilities

• Articulate the objectives of the Technology, Data and Innovation group strategy and lead proposals and delivery of new implementation projects with clients and colleagues.
• Build strong relationships with clients and partners, represent the division in internal decision-making forums and act as the Voice of the Customer.
• Drive innovative business change solutions, new product and service development, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide regular management information, analysis and insight, and support performance audits and control reviews with Service Operations and vendor management.
• Advise on regulatory submissions to the CMA and highlight operational and regulatory risks to the Client Directors and COO.
• Manage the departmental budget, identify savings and cost avoidance, and manage stakeholder requests from regulators, country management and business units.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of 5 technology employees, work in virtual global teams and deliver under pressure.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience in technology management in the financial sector.
• Experience managing the client-facing side of implementation projects and providing ongoing or ad-hoc project support.
• Good knowledge of banking regulations and frameworks in Pakistan.
• Able to work in a high-pressure environment and in matrix organizations.
