Project Manager - Education Project (Kohistan)

About the role

Pak Mission Society (PMS) is hiring a Project Manager for its Inclusive Education Recovery and Girls' Empowerment Initiative in Kohistan, a 36-month project (2026-2029) funded by Kindermissionswerk (KMW). The post is based in the field in Kohistan/Besham and covers the full project cycle: implementation, technical delivery, financial management, monitoring, donor coordination and stakeholder management. The goal is to give 2,000 out-of-school children, especially girls, access to quality education and help them transition into formal government schools.

Key responsibilities

• Lead field implementation according to the approved proposal, logframe, work plan and KMW requirements, selecting 20 target villages and 20 government schools and documenting the selection with the District Education Offices.
• Lead community entry and mobilization: Jirga meetings, hamlet mapping, site selection with SMCs and Mothers' Groups, and MoUs with the Jirga covering rent-free space, community contribution and the safety of female staff.
• Oversee 20 Community Learning and Reintegration Centres (CLRCs), including recruitment and training of facilitators (at least 15 female), delivery of the government ALP Package A, enrolment of two cohorts of 1,000 children, six-weekly assessments, transition to government schools and remedial support.
• Oversee school improvements (furniture, learning aids, solarization, gender-responsive WASH and accessibility) with the Field Engineer, and teacher professional development for 150 teachers with DCTE certification.
• Oversee 20 Girls' STEAM Clubs, Mothers' Groups, SMC capacity building, community dialogues and media campaigns, applying child safeguarding, PSEA, positive discipline, the Two-Adult Rule and gender sensitivity.
• Manage the project cycle: implementation plans, quarterly work plans, procurement, risk management and HR plans, and prepare quarterly and annual reports for KMW and donors.
• Manage the field budget, ensure compliance with donor guidelines, resolve conflicts, and lead the handover and exit strategy in the final year.
