Education Specialist

About the role

Pak Mission Society (PMS), a national relief and development organization, is hiring an Education Specialist for its Head Office in Islamabad. The post is a technical lead for the education portfolio, which covers community-based learning, school improvement, teacher development, girls' education and climate education. It is anchored by the Inclusive Education Recovery and Girls' Empowerment Initiative in Kohistan, a 36-month project funded by Kindermissionswerk (2026-2029). The specialist leads resource mobilization and networking, develops proposals, carries out technical assessments and gives technical direction and quality assurance to education projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and regularly update the education strategy and portfolio growth plan, map donors and funding windows, and lead donor engagement and relationship building.
• Identify opportunities to scale and replicate existing projects and develop consortium and partnership opportunities with national and international organizations.
• Lead proposal development: concept notes, full proposals, logframes, theories of change, technical approaches and budgets, coordinating inputs from Programme, Finance, MEAL, Operations and Communications teams.
• Lead or oversee technical assessments such as education needs assessments, out-of-school children mapping, school and community feasibility studies and stakeholder analyses, integrating child safeguarding, gender, inclusion and do-no-harm principles.
• Provide technical leadership and quality assurance for projects, including the Kohistan initiative's Community Learning and Reintegration Centres, teacher professional development, Girls' STEAM Clubs and inclusive education approaches; design curricula, training materials and mentoring tools.
• Develop technical standards, guidelines, SOPs and tools, and conduct regular field visits to observe classrooms and coach field teams.
• Represent PMS in provincial and national education forums, support policy briefs and advocacy events, liaise with donors' technical staff and track education policies and enrolment campaigns.
