Project Manager - National Science Bowl Pakistan

About the role

CERP, the Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan, is hiring a Project Manager for the National Science Bowl Pakistan (NSBP), a nationwide STEM quiz competition for high school students. The role leads two connected workstreams: end-to-end delivery of the national competition for private schools, and the implementation of an associated research project in partner schools. The ideal candidate is highly organised, comfortable managing teams and external stakeholders, and able to keep multiple workstreams on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Competition delivery: own the full delivery cycle of the NSBP for private schools, including project planning, budget and sponsorship, outreach and registrations, venue and vendor coordination, event-day management, results, certificates and a lessons-learned report, and managing a team of 150+ student volunteers.
• Research delivery: liaise with partner schools, run baseline and endline survey rounds (instrument development, piloting, fieldwork), oversee data entry and quality checks, and manage the enumerator team and Research Associate.
• Partner and funder coordination: act as the focal point with implementing partners, coordinate intervention design and rollout, and report progress to funders.
• Communication: keep schools, students, sponsors, partners and project leadership informed, and handle queries and updates.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
• 4 to 5 years of project management experience.
• Experience managing events, competitions or education programmes is preferred; experience coordinating field research or survey-based projects is a strong plus.
• Willingness to travel locally.

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• Ability to train, supervise and motivate field and project staff.
• Familiarity with surveys, data collection and data quality processes.
