Resident Medical Officer – Alternate Night (Pediatrics)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Resident Medical Officer to work the alternate night shift in the paediatric department of Mamji Hospital, Karachi. The RMO will deliver high‑quality medical care to children, support surgical procedures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maintain the hospital’s standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct paediatric patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment during night shifts.
• Assist surgeons in paediatric operations and ensure proper post‑operative care.
• Support senior physicians in patient management, documentation and follow‑up.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development programmes.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, infection‑control measures and safety standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with eligibility to practice in Karachi.
• Demonstrated ability to manage paediatric patients effectively.
• Experience or willingness to assist in surgical procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Capacity to work under pressure and make timely clinical decisions.
