Secondary Biology Teacher (Years 9 & 10)

About the role

PECHS Girls' School is looking for a Secondary Section Biology teacher for Years 9 and 10. The post covers planning, delivering and assessing Biology lessons within the AKU-EB curriculum, while supporting students' scientific inquiry and problem-solving.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engaging lesson plans using active learning strategies and foster critical thinking, scientific inquiry and problem-solving through practical and theoretical work.
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation.
• Provide individual academic support and guidance to students when needed.
• Plan, conduct and assess learning in line with the AKU-EB curriculum requirements for Years 9 and 10.
• Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning of Biology.
• Integrate the National Curriculum and the AKU-EB curriculum into daily teaching, learning and assessment.
• Design, prepare and evaluate formative and summative assessments, including test and examination papers.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, share responsibilities and welcome feedback.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Biology or a related field.
• Preference for experience teaching Biology to Years 9 and 10 or equivalent secondary grades.
• Preference for experience teaching the AKU-EB curriculum.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
