Senior Accountant

About the role

Bestax is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its Canadian clients with tax compliance, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. You will work with a qualified team to ensure accurate records and help businesses meet regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax returns.
• Assist with GST/HST, payroll tax filings and routine submissions.
• Support basic tax planning to reduce liabilities.
• Stay updated on Canadian tax rules and regulations.
• Review financial data for accurate tax calculations.
• Handle tax notices and communicate with authorities as needed.
• Maintain bookkeeping records and prepare financial reports.
• Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and CaseWare.
• Coordinate with the team to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in Canadian taxation and accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, CRA regulations and compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Fluent English communication (written & verbal).
