Senior Assistant Manager IT

About the role

Utopia Industries, a top Pakistani exporter with manufacturing facilities across six locations, is hiring a full-time, on-site Senior Assistant Manager IT in Karachi. The role supports and strengthens the company's IT infrastructure and systems, overseeing day-to-day IT operations across multiple facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including server and network administration, user support, hardware and software management, and system performance monitoring.
• Implement and maintain security protocols, backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable IT services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to understand business needs, optimise ERP and manufacturing-related applications, and support technology upgrades and rollouts.
• Contribute to IT process documentation, team training, incident management and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; professional certifications such as CCNA, MCSA/MCSE or CompTIA Network+/Security+ are advantageous.
• Several years of experience in IT operations or system administration, preferably in a large-scale manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Required skills

• Server administration, network configuration and troubleshooting, and systems monitoring.
• IT security and risk management, including access control, antivirus and endpoint protection, data backup and disaster recovery planning.
• Application and ERP support, with familiarity with manufacturing or supply chain systems and basic database querying.
• User support and service management, including helpdesk support, incident resolution, hardware/software installation and documentation of IT procedures.
• Project coordination, including IT implementation planning, vendor coordination and stakeholder communication.
