Senior Consultant, MENA Tax - Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR)

About the role

EY is seeking a Senior Consultant for its GCR team in Islamabad, within the MENA Tax practice covering Global Compliance & Reporting. You will lead complex engagements and play a key role in growing the GCR practice.

Key responsibilities

• Combine technical skills with commercial, legislative and industry knowledge to lead a team delivering tax services and manage clients' compliance and reporting needs.
• Manage client engagements day to day, monitor progress and deliverables, set up standardised processes, anticipate risks, escalate issues and drive performance improvements.
• Supervise high-performing teams, coach and counsel juniors, and ensure adherence to Tax Quality guidelines.
• Maintain strong internal and external relationships and deliver services of the highest quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, taxation or a related field; MBA, master's or other advanced degree and/or professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA or ADIT preferred.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international tax rules and regulations, with at least 3 years of experience, ideally in a large professional services firm.
• Strong background in tax accounting and tax auditing, ideally in a large professional services firm.
• Proven managerial, organisational and project management experience.
• Excellent communicator, detail-oriented, able to work across borders with large amounts of data, and able to prioritise in a rapidly changing industry.
• Ideal candidates have experience with multinational clients and in-depth commercial, legislative and industry knowledge.
