Senior Product Owner – Islamic Banking (Digital Products)

About the role

The Senior Product Owner will partner with the Head of Islamic Banking to expand the Islamic product suite and deliver fully digital customer journeys across Mashreq Bank Pakistan’s digital platforms. This role drives the end‑to‑end development, launch and management of Islamic banking products, ensuring they meet regulatory, Shariah and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head of Islamic Banking to grow the Islamic business and product portfolio across deposits and asset lines.
• Launch and manage Islamic propositions, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with client needs.
• Coordinate with Shariah, Legal and Compliance teams to secure all necessary approvals.
• Oversee Modaraba pool creation, system setup, weightage allocation, profit‑rate declaration and regulatory compliance.
• Work with digital squads, technology and operations to roll out front‑end digital journeys and back‑end infrastructure.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing for new releases and provide product training.
• Maintain Shariah governance, control frameworks, RCSA and regulatory checks for existing and new products.
• Develop product documentation, SOPs and Islamic product agreements.
• Support implementation of policies and procedures in line with SBP regulations.

Required profile

• 12+ years of hands‑on product, operations and controls experience in a leading bank with an Islamic offering.
• Strong knowledge of core banking systems and digital squad collaboration.
• Deep understanding of Shariah governance and regulatory environments.
• Proven ability to lead critical initiatives independently and coordinate across multiple product teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and presentation skills with a customer‑centric focus.
• Commercial orientation and effective people‑management capabilities.
• Business degree or equivalent professional qualification.
