Sr. AWS DevOps Engineer - Kubernetes Expertise

About the role

Cloudelligent is an AWS Premier Consulting Partner that helps organizations modernize, migrate and innovate in the cloud, with a focus on Generative AI and Agentic AI. It is hiring a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer in Islamabad, working 8am-5pm Central Time (US). The main role is to build and deploy complex cloud environments for customers using automation tools, set up and maintain the AWS cloud architecture, support infrastructure monitoring and alerting, troubleshoot issues and develop the required automation.

Key responsibilities

• Work with a team of DevOps Engineers to architect, build and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure that is redundant, resilient, scalable, self-sustaining and self-healing.
• Promote infrastructure as code and automation; work independently with customers and stakeholders on projects, gathering requirements and informing them of new features and enhancements.
• Create and improve operational practices and procedures, and ensure compliance and security practices are implemented and maintained.
• Train and mentor junior DevOps engineers and new team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in software or computer engineering, computer science or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps engineering.
• 4+ years of using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab or similar).
• Effective communication skills, with proficiency in English.
• Self-driven, able to work independently or in a team with limited supervision.

Required skills

• Hands-on AWS cloud environment design and CI/CD workflow management.
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Rancher).
• Containerization (Docker, Docker Compose) and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet).
• Scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby, Go or JavaScript).
• Monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana and the ELK stack.
• IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, firewalls and cloud-native security.
• Good to have: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Professional, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
