Tax Lead

About the role

As Disrupt expands its portfolio of ventures across borders, we are looking for a Tax Lead to manage a broad range of tax matters and help develop the group’s tax function. The role will focus on both direct and indirect tax compliance in Pakistan and the UAE while supporting strategic tax planning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file corporate income tax, withholding tax, sales tax/VAT returns for Pakistan and the UAE.
• Maintain the tax compliance calendar, track deadlines and ensure timely filings.
• Support tax planning initiatives to optimise the group’s effective tax rate.
• Analyse tax implications of new products, contracts, cross‑border transactions and assist with transfer pricing documentation.
• Coordinate group structuring, new entity setups and expansion into new jurisdictions, working with legal counsel.
• Act as liaison with external tax advisors and auditors across jurisdictions.
• Assist with tax audits, assessments and authority inquiries, preparing responses and documentation.
• Prepare tax projections and provisions for financial planning and respond to tax queries from Finance, Legal and Operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CA, CPA) is a plus.
• 4+ years of progressive tax experience, including at least 2 years in a tax advisory firm or an IT/retail company.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan tax law (income tax, sales tax, withholding tax) and UAE corporate tax and VAT.
• Hands‑on experience with tax compliance, filings and communication with tax authorities.
• Excellent analytical ability, high attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English with the ability to explain tax matters to non‑tax stakeholders.
