Technical Support Professional – AMS

About the role

IBM Consulting is seeking a Technical Support Professional for its Application Management Services (AMS) team. You will use your technical expertise to deliver production support, ensuring smooth operation of client applications and services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderate production support tasks, including incident management and escalation when needed.
• Identify and resolve problems by leveraging knowledge of applications, functionality, and underlying technology.
• Implement and manage changes to production processing while minimizing service disruption.
• Continuously monitor production processing to detect and prevent potential issues.
• Ensure all support activities adhere to the ITIL framework and maintain high‑quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
• Experience with production support, incident, problem and change management.
• Familiarity with database concepts, operating systems and programming fundamentals.
• Understanding of the ITIL framework.

Required skills

• Database management (data modeling, querying, normalization).
• Operating system installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Programming language basics (syntax, data types, control structures).
• ITIL processes for incident, problem and change management.
• Scripting with Python or PowerShell for automation.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes and database performance tuning (preferred).
