Teller / Cashier

About the role

Ravi Exchange Company (Pvt) Limited (RECL) is a currency exchange and remittance services provider in Pakistan with a large network of locations. It is hiring a full-time, on-site Teller / Cashier in Karachi to handle customer transactions, including currency exchange and remittance processing, securely and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and disburse cash and process currency exchange and remittance transactions.
• Verify customer identification and documentation.
• Record transactions in the system and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift.
• Explain exchange rates, fees and services clearly, resolve basic customer queries and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Follow company policies, compliance guidelines and anti-money laundering procedures while keeping a professional, customer-focused environment.

Required profile

• Minimum intermediate/high school education; a diploma or degree in finance, commerce or business is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site, manage time effectively and perform well under busy operational conditions.
• Previous experience in banking, exchange companies or cash-handling roles is beneficial.
• Proficiency in local languages and basic English is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong cash handling skills, with attention to accuracy, reconciliation and basic accounting practices.
• Customer service skills: clear communication, active listening and a professional, courteous approach.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with transaction processing systems and office applications.
• Understanding of currency exchange and remittance processes; knowledge of compliance and anti-money laundering guidelines is an advantage.
