Unit Head – Project Management Office (PMO) (AVP/VP)

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a senior leader to head its Project Management Office (PMO) within the Digital Banking division. This role reports to the Wing Head BI Data Governance and Analytics and is responsible for establishing robust project governance across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project and program management frameworks aligned with organizational goals.
• Oversee project portfolios to ensure alignment, scalability, and consistency across business units.
• Collaborate with business, IT, and analytics teams to translate priorities into actionable project plans.
• Drive project governance, quality management, and performance tracking for data‑driven decision‑making.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives, workshops, and vendor relationships to support execution and best‑practice adoption.
• Mentor and develop the PMO team, defining KPIs, dashboards, and metrics to monitor portfolio impact.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Banking, FinTech, Telecom, Capital Markets, or Software House, with at least 3 years in IT/Digital Banking project management.
• Proven experience establishing PMO frameworks, governance structures, policies, and performance monitoring.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.

Required skills

• Project management tools: MS Project, JIRA.
• Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, hybrid delivery.
• Professional certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, PMI‑ACP, CSM, SAFe (preferred).
• Risk management, budget control, and vendor contract oversight.
