Unit Head – Quality Assurance (AVP)

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a senior professional to lead its Quality Assurance function within the Credit Risk Management Division. Reporting to the Senior Credit Officer, the Unit Head will ensure audit observations, governance matters, and compliance requirements are addressed promptly and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Internal Audit, External Audit, Compliance, Risk Management Group and other stakeholders on audit observations and governance issues.
• Monitor, track, and follow up on audit observations, ensuring timely submission of required data, replies, and supporting documents.
• Prepare status reports, summaries, replies and presentations for senior management on audit and governance matters.
• Review existing processes, controls and procedures, identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of audit observations, compliance status, governance reports and related correspondence.
• Support the implementation of credit policies, internal controls and governance standards across the Credit Risk Management Division.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation from a recognized university; Master's degree or relevant qualifications in data analytics or Business Intelligence preferred.
• At least 6 years of banking experience, with a minimum of 4 years in audit of corporate or commercial segments.
• Strong knowledge of banking products, credit risk management, credit policies, SBP regulations and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, review and report‑writing abilities.
• Good coordination, communication and follow‑up skills, with strong attention to detail.
