Vice President - Financial Control

About the role

The Vice President – Financial Control will lead the bank’s financial control framework, ensuring robust governance, accounting integrity, and risk management across products, processes, systems, and jurisdictions. This senior position coordinates financial control matters across business, operations, technology, finance, and transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and strengthen the financial control framework across all products, processes, systems, and geographies.
• Perform second‑line oversight of sundry and suspense account governance, monitoring ageing balances, threshold breaches, and related risk exposures.
• Identify, escalate, track, and resolve high‑risk balances in partnership with Operations, Finance, Technology, and business teams.
• Review and assess financial control risks arising from operational processes, accounting treatments, reconciliations, and system workflows.
• Act as the central point of contact for financial control matters on major projects, product launches, process changes, and transformation initiatives.
• Ensure new product and process approvals meet accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and control requirements before launch.
• Evaluate the impact of system upgrades, automation, and technology enhancements on financial controls and reporting integrity.
• Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and external auditors on observations and remediation.
• Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and external audit reviews with analysis and timely action‑item closure.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, digitisation, data‑governance enhancements, and AI‑enabled monitoring.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial control, accounting, and risk management within a banking environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory expectations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
