About the role
The Deputy Manager Electrical Maintenance ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems within a power plant. You will lead maintenance planning, supervise troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining strict safety and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical systems, GIS, and auxiliary equipment.
- Supervise fault analysis, root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, PTW/LOTO, and HSE regulations.
- Manage electrical scope during shutdowns, overhauls, and plant modification projects.
- Develop and maintain procedures, technical documentation, and testing plans aligned with OEM standards.
- Monitor KPIs, analyse data and drive reliability improvement initiatives.
- Control maintenance budgets, manpower planning, critical spares and material forecasting.
- Oversee contractors and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
- Lead emergency fault restoration and system recovery during plant trips.
- Prepare technical reports, support audits and mentor maintenance teams.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power).
- 5‑7 years of electrical maintenance experience in a power plant.
- 1‑2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of power generation, transmission & distribution, protection schemes and relay coordination.
- Hands‑on experience with protection relays, substation automation, SCADA/RTU and IEC 61850.
Required skills
- Power system analysis and short‑circuit studies.
- Fault diagnosis, root‑cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting.
- Maintenance planning using CMMS (e.g., Maximo).
- Technical documentation and interpretation of electrical drawings/schematics.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA, PTW/LOTO and ISO management systems.
- Familiarity with turbo generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, VFDs, UPS and battery systems.
