Branch Manager (AVP) - Islamic Banking

About the role

National Bank of Pakistan, through its client, is hiring a Branch Manager (AVP) for its Islamic Banking unit in Islamabad, Lahore, Gharo, Kasur and Kurram. The post reports to the Regional Head and covers the overall management of branch affairs, including supervision, business development and target achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the branch, supervise staff, develop business and achieve targets and KPIs through marketing of Islamic banking products
• Meet existing and new customers to promote deposits, retail banking, BANCA, asset management, remittances and government business
• Execute the annual business plan, prepare performance reports and cascade targets to sales and customer service staff
• Monitor and process cross-selling of assets and liabilities, and devise strategies to counter competition
• Keep strong internal controls to prevent fraud and forgery, alongside the Branch Operations Manager
• Support new product launches, ensure Shariah compliance and maintain branch premises to bank standards
• Review the credit portfolio where applicable, train staff and handle customer complaints within turnaround time
• Review audit and performance reports and address audit observations

Required profile

• Minimum graduation from a university or college recognized by the HEC of Pakistan; commerce, Islamic Banking certification or degree preferred
• At least 6 years in branch banking, including at least 3 years as Branch Manager, preferably in Islamic Banking
• Goal-oriented, analytical, with good leadership, communication and customer service skills

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of branch banking operations and Islamic banking products
• Knowledge of AML/CFT and SBP prudential regulations
• Ability to deal with audit issues
