Communications Analyst

About the role

Cynosure, an international development consultancy serving clients such as the UN agencies, the World Bank and other donors, is seeking a Communications Analyst. The role strengthens the firm's digital presence and produces written, visual and promotional materials that present its work, projects and achievements to international clients, partners and professional audiences. It suits creative professionals interested in strategic communications, digital media and institutional branding.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and regularly update the LinkedIn account and the website, including content, page layouts and visual design, and maintain a communications content calendar
• Research, write, edit and produce content for social media, newsletters, project highlights and announcements; create graphics, infographics, charts and simple animated graphics and short videos with Canva Pro or similar tools
• Translate technical information and project findings into clear, audience-appropriate materials, and review all outputs for accuracy and consistency
• Develop institutional products such as annual reports, newsletters and project showcases, and adapt corporate profiles, capability statements, brochures and presentations for different audiences
• Keep branding and visual identity consistent across platforms, maintain templates and assets, and support proposal teams with visual materials
• Create promotional materials for events, conferences and partnerships, and liaise with external designers and website developers

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications and Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, Graphic Design, International Development, Social Sciences or a related field
• Around 1-2 years of experience in communications, social media management, content development, digital marketing or graphic design, preferably in the international development sector
• Excellent English writing, editing and proofreading skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, and work flexibly during proposal or project deadlines

Required skills

• Canva Pro, with basic video editing and animation
• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or similar is an advantage
• MS Office, especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• Familiarity with Wix and basic HTML/CSS is an advantage
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Canva AI is an advantage
