Full Stack Engineer (WordPress, Laravel, React, Next.js)

About the role

Better It for Less is hiring a Full Stack Developer for a remote position, working Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM US Central Time. The ideal candidate can build websites, web applications, dashboards and custom software independently, from requirements and database design through testing and deployment. The company values strong technical ability, a good sense of UI/UX, active use of AI-powered development tools and quick adaptation to new technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Convert Figma designs into responsive WordPress sites using Elementor and custom development.
• Build web applications with React.js, Next.js, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Develop secure backends with PHP and Laravel, and design database schemas, migrations and optimized queries.
• Work with MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite and Supabase; build REST APIs, authentication systems and payment gateways.
• Customize WordPress themes, plugins and Elementor components, and build admin dashboards and internal tools.
• Debug, optimize, maintain and deploy applications, and use AI tools to speed up coding and review their quality and security.
• Ensure responsive design, performance, security and maintainable code, and research new technologies as needed.

Required profile

• Mid-level developer (3-5+ years) with end-to-end ownership of features.
• Strong problem solving, design awareness and backend understanding beyond basic CRUD.
• Uses AI tools effectively and adapts to new technologies.
• Delivers reliable, production-ready applications.

Required skills

• Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, responsive design and UI/UX basics.
• WordPress and Elementor, including Figma-to-WordPress conversion and Squarespace customization.
• Backend: PHP, Laravel, REST APIs, authentication and authorization.
• Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Supabase, SQL writing and optimization.
• Tools: Git, GitHub, Postman, Linux server management, deployment and CI/CD.
• Nice to have: WooCommerce, Node.js, Docker, Redis, AWS/Vercel, automated testing, technical SEO and Core Web Vitals.
